Diane Louise Salinger studied her craft with Bobby Lewis, director of the Yale School of Drama, Uta Hagen and Stella Adler after graduating from Columbia University in Drama. She began her acting career Off-Broadway in New York City and went on to perform classical repertory throughout the country before moving to Los Angeles to pursue film and television.

Diane's successful career as an actress truly sets her apart from the rest of Hollywood teachers, having performed opposite many Academy Award winners and nominees. George Clooney, Gary Oldman, Jeff Bridges, Michael Caine and Forest Whitaker are just a few stars who have worked with Diane. She is recognized for her portrayal of Apollonia, the fortune-teller mother in the HBO series CARNIVALE, Simone in PEE-WEE's BIG ADVENTURE and on GHOST WORLD, CSI, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Her talent has earned her both the LA Drama Critics Circle and Dramalogue awards.

Diane has developed some of the top new actors across the country as a guest master teacher at USC, and later in her own school, the Diane Louise Salinger Acting Academy. Many students have successful careers on both sides of the camera including Catherine Hardwicke, director of the hit film TWILIGHT, and casting directors Lisa Soltau and Jen Cram. Moved by the LA riots, Diane founded an acting workshop for at-risk youth and went on to teach at The Miramac Performing Arts Center, University of Alabama and the Learning Annex.

Salinger's influence on the entertainment world reaches beyond her talent as a teacher and actress. She directed "Anna Karenina" for Oprah Winfrey and her Book of the Month Club and was honored as President of the Jury and Mistress of Ceremonies of the Monaco International Film Festival.

Diane is also working on her upcoming screenplay based on the life of William Butler Yeats and Irish Revolutionary Maud Gonne.
